Match Analysis :
In the first game of the double header on Sunday, Rajasthan Royals will clash with Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
Rajasthan Royals are in a precarious situation owing to their inconsistency. Having won only two matches out of the six played so far in the 14th edition of IPL. Their batting has been one of the biggest letdowns of this season. Rajasthan have failed to put up a collective show with the bat in the middle order. They need to quickly find a way to fix their fluctuating fortunes before it is too late. Despite Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer being ruled out, the Royals have shown courage and determination under the leadership of Sanju Samson, who seems to have finally struck a chord with consistency. While the Royals do have a youthful squad in place, they hold the advantage heading into the game, given the depth and balance of their squad.
Royals may rethink about their batting order in the games to come with David Miller finding very less time in the middle. Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag are yet to shine in this edition, but are expected to be given more time due to their all-round ability.
On the other hand, SRH are going through a tough phase as they have won only 1 match this season so far. On Saturday, they also sacked David Warner from the captaincy position as Kane Williamson will lead the team in the rest of the matches. And team management has also the decision that they will be changing their overseas combination for today’s game. Although the likes of Kane Williamson and Jonny Bairstow have played their part to perfection. The injuries to Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan make matters worse for the Sunrisers. However, they have enough firepower in their ranks to launch a comeback. Left-arm spinner Jagadeesha Suchith had a decent outing in his debut for SRH, but was very expensive in the three overs he bowled in the one-sided run chase by CSK. So, he may be the one to make way for the all-round options.

Top pick for Captain/ Vice Captain :
Captain : Sanju Samson, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Butler

Venue :
Although the pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium should be a good one to bat on, there should be ample help on offer for the bowlers. With some grass expected to cover the surface, the pacers should get the ball to swing and bounce early on. The spinners should also get some purchase off the surface, keeping the batsmen on their toes in the middle overs. With dew likely to play a role in the second innings, both teams will prefer to chase upon winning the toss. 160-170 should be the par score at the IPL venue.
Interesting facts :
- Warner's strike rate of 110 this season is his lowest in the tournament since 2018.
- Chris Morris's 11 wickets in IPL 2021 put him in touching distance of bettering his best ever tally in a season - 15, achieved in the 2013 edition.
- Manish Pandey need 1 more six and four to reach 100th Six and 300th four in IPL.
- Only two wickets were taken by Spinners in 6 games played by RR so far.
